In nwp-036 page 7,here is the AOD  sketch map as below :

As fat as I am concerned, the Transmitter and Receiver should be reverse ?

Or there is something  I misinterpreting?

No, these are not the same things. The duration between the last sample of the reference period and first sample of the first sample slot is the 3us or 2.5us duration, depending on TSAMPLESPACINGREF.

The second duration is the duration from the start of the reference period to the first sample in the first sample period.
