Version of MFW deployed for nRF9160 v2

What's the version of the modem firmware programmed at the factory for the ships with the nRF9160-SICA v2?

There is so called Production Test Image (PTI) in nRF-9160-SICA-B1A.

This means there is no usable Modem Firmware in the device when it arrives from the factory.

  • I'm not talking about the factory. When I purchase through distribution it has a MFW programmed, no? Otherwise I wouldn't be able to solder it down and immediately use it.

So what I'm asking, in a different way, what version of the MFW does the v2 hardware ship with?

  • I have made the assumption that the SIPs are shipped with the same MFW as they were programmed with at the factory(which are the various PTI images). It looks like one also may order SIPs programmed with a specific MFW for production. If that is desirable, we could guide you.

I have assumed that a Production Test Image (PTI) is usable for testing some limited functionality. Could that be what you have experienced?

You could use +CGMR (or AT%SHORTSWVER) to read the firmware version from the SIP. If you still have some unused v1 SIPs we would find out.
