NRF91 Satellite Communication

Hello Nordic, I am currently trying to develop an application that would send data via satellite if there is no LTE coverage but I don't see any relevant documentation regarding this usage. So my question is if it is in fact possible to use the GPS antenna to send data to a web server via Satellite communication ? I am using the NRF9160 development kit and work on MacOS Catalina.

Thank you

Unfortunately, the GPS part of the nRF9160 is a receiver only.

We support LTE M1, NB-IoT, and GPS reception. If you are out of coverage for both M1 and NB1, I would recommend that you look into adding a 3rd or even a 4th way of communicating, like BLE/WIFI/LoRA/etc.

    Kind regards,
