How to use about PCA 10028

I have a PCA 10028. This board uses Two microcomputers. One is N51422. Another is microcomputer on which the seal is put(Segger ID:). What is the role of this microcomputer? Does this have the function of J-Link? Can I use PCA 10028 though I do not have J-LINK?

  • Yes indeed,

second MCU is Atmel SAM3U2C where either SEGGER J-Link OB or MBED CMSIS-DAP FW resides. Then you need only SEGGER or MBED driver on your PC host to be able to program and debug the nRF51422 which is attached to the Atmel MCU. In case of SEGGER J-Link FW you can even use it as replacement to standalone J-Link CortexM HW because it has another JTAG/SWD 10-pin connector to target external MCU (not the nRF51422 on the DK board itself). All is well documented in nRF51-DK User Guide as pointed by mohBOSS, please read it;)
