nRF Programmer not detecting Thingy91.

Hello!

I am flashing software over USB as I do not have a 10-pin JTAG cable yet. After I flashed a sample file on to the Thingy91s SIP it is no longer showing up in nRF Programmer even though I am pressing the SW3 button to select the correct debug method. The only way it is detected is when debug mode is set to RF52.

Is it possible that the USB software on the Thingy91 was overwritten during my last flash, causing it to be unable to connect over USB? If so, is it possible to fix this over USB or do I need a 10-pin JTAG cable to program it directly from a rf9160DK board?

Hi!

Try updating the FW on the nRF52840 first. Put it into serial recovery mode by pressing SW4 instead of SW3, then flash the connectivity bridge FW that you can download from our website.

If it doesn't work via the Programmer application, you can also try using mcumgr, as described in the tutorial: Thingy:91 Firmware Update using MCUboot. 

When the FW on the nRF52840 is successfully updated, try with the application on the nRF9160 SiP again.
