Range through human body

Hi,

I have made some customs pcbs, the main one use the PCA10004 reference design and the small boards use PCA10000. I can get 25 meters on LOS (I think it can go far way but 25 meters is the maximum distance I can test at home) but as soon as a human body go between the boards I can't get more than 3/4 meters.

I set it to 250kbits, payload is 5, address is 2bytes and I have WHITEEN enabled . What can I do to improve it?

The body will absorb pretty much everything, and there's nothing you can do with that. The attenuation is huge. It will only work if the signal can reflect off something, wall or floor.

could an antenna like the one in PCA10005 board help?

It would help little bit but the basic characteristic of the signal would not change. The human body will absorb most of the signal and if the walls and floor are not good reflectors then you would not see a big difference.
