Nrf Connect for Desktop opens with gray screen on Windows 10!

I've been using nrf connect for desktop for quite a while, I had the latest version 3.6.1 installed, for some reason it started showing the gray screen and won't open properly now.

I tried uninstalling nrf command line tools, jlink and nrf connect application and reinstalling it again. But nothing is changing. Upon pressing Ctrl+R it shows the header for a split second and goes back to gray screen again. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I have same problem. Freshly installed windows 10 64 bit on Lenovo laptop, no other programs installed jet. Installed nrfconnect-setup-4.1.1-x64, got grey screen, uninstalled, installed again, same. Installed nrfconnect 4.0 (for 32 and 64 bit), was ok. Suggested upgrade, upgraded to 4.1.1, grey screen again.

On other laptop I have upgraded to 4.1.1, works fine.

I installed Visual C++ Redistributable from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 . After this upgrade to 4.1.1 works fine.

had same problem with gray screen trying to install 4.1.2, 4.1.1, and 4.0.0 on Windows 10.  updating the "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022" as described above solved problem for me
