Master SPI howto

I am an experienced developer but struggling to understand nRF9160. Where can I find .h files defining HW? Where can I find data sheets describing peripherals? My task is to create a Master SPI driver or to find one. Please give me hints that can guide me along the way.

Hi,

You can find the nRF9160 Product Specification (datasheet) in our infocenter. The SPI Master peripheral is described under peripherals: SPIM — Serial peripheral interface master with EasyDMA.

The header files defining the HW is found in our MDK, also included in NRFX. NRFX also includes a SPI Master driver for the SPIM peripheral, you can find its API documentation here.

nRF9160 is supported through our Software Development Kit: nRF Connect SDK. You can find examples using the nrfx_spim driver in this post.
