Using nRF52840 as non RF microcontroler

If one using nRF52840 microcontroller as non-RF one, in example configuration from page 593 / Figure 214, No 6 schematic, I have two questions

- does a ANT pin filtering mandatory (radio part will be completely off all the time, not used) - C3, L1,C4 (C22 is NC anyway)?

- is it possible or practical to have smaller grounding pad on the footprint, so simple vias can be used for the second row / line of pins, in difference to reference design with plugged vias?

If the radio is not used, the ANT pin can be left unconnected. 

As long as the center pad is grounded, it can be made smaller to fit a row of vias. Note that this is not ideal if the radio is being used.
