at#xsleep=0 while not registered resets CFUN to zero

Hi,

I observed that in some cases SLM waking up from idle mode (at#xsleep=0) has CFUN reset to zero, even if I run AT+CFUN=1 before at#xsleep. Presumably that happens when at#xsleep is executed before the modem has registered itself (i. e. CEREG status is neither 1 nor 5). Is this expected behavior? Note: I'm taliking about SLM from nRF Connect version 1.3.

there are some changes to the SLM application in NCS 1.4, so perhaps you can try 1.4 and see if the problem persists.

I'm working together with plotkin1996. We are trying to work around connectivity issues on deployed sensors where we are not able to upgrade the 9160 firmware, so unfortunately we need to understand and fix the issues as they are in v1.3.

We tried to reproduce it with NCS 1.3, but didn't get the same result as you. You should make sure to have the latest modem firmware installed and if the problem still remains you can send a modem trace of the event.

It looks the likely reason was insufficient current sourcing capability in our circuit, so that the device sometimes reset itself during peak current consumption while trying to connect, took a while to find out. Sorry to disturb you with that, I'll close the ticket.
