Is Arduino Enough?

Hello, I hope you are safe and well during these times. I have created a successful prototype using the Adafruit Feather nRF52 Bluefruit and the Arduino IDE. I think I am ready to send the .hex file to an approved nRF52832 module maker to make my own PCB and was just wondering if you advise making a version using the Nordic SDK before I send off the .hex file. I understand C and C++, but time is limited because I am also a full time engineering college student. I am also still having issues with SEGGER. Should I just go with the Arduino .hex file for time's sake? Will I ever need to make a version using the Nordic SDK? Thank you for your time and patience!

Hi, I don't know the scope of your project but for many hobbyist using the Arduino platform is enough, neverless the official and supported SDK for the nRF52832 is the Nordic's nRF5 SDK. If you are using the nRF5 SDK you can use Devzone forums for support for bigger projects, but for Arduino projects I recommend heading up to the Arduino forum for support: https://forum.arduino.cc/

The chip itself neither knows nor cares what development tools you use - so starting with Arduino doesn't lock you in to having to keep using it forever.

Impossible to say.

Of course, Arduino is open-source - so there's nothing to stop you adding extra features there if you find something missing ...

But, as Marjeris Romero suggests, Arduino is not supported by Nordic - so you'd need to be asking in the Arduino forums.

If you're planning on making a commercial product, you should check out the implications of that.
