nRF6707 Power Profiler Kit

Hello. I'm in the midst of purchasing a power profiler to works with nRF51 Development kit and nRF51 USB Development  Dongle. May I know if all the technical resources on nRF6707 Power Profiler Kit are still valid and applicable with the newer nRF-PPK2? What are the major changes in transition from nRF6707 PPK to PPK2?

Regards,

Dominic

  • Hi,

With technical resources, exactly what are you referring to? Are you thinking of the nRF Connect Power Profiler app? If you are then I can confirm that this are applicable to the PPK2, I would even go further and say that the new design is made specifically for the PPK2. AFAIK there is no reason to go for the PPK1 instead of PPK2, the latter is a much improved platform for measuring power consumption.

PPK2 doesn't require a debugger or a DK to work either, and can act as an ampere meter or a source meter. The max current it can measure has also significantly increased to 1 A. Features of the PPK2 can be found here,.
