nRF Connect SDK v1.4.2 - How to add multiprotocol support to network_coordinator

Hello,

I am using nRF52833, nRF Connect SDK  v1.4.2.

I have imported the Zigbee light switch, light bulb, network_coordinator build and test it successfully.

I have also tested multiprotocol functionality via the nRF toolbox application.

Now I want to add the multiprotocol functionality to the network_coordinator example.

Please advise me on how to do it.

Hi Pranav,

To enable multiprotocol support, you must set the following Kconfig option: CONFIG_BT_LL_SOFTDEVICE_DEFAULT, which activates the SoftDevice Controller. You can do this by doing what I described to you in this reply. You'll have to implement the multiprotocol functionality you want in your example yourself, but the SoftDevice Controller supports multiprotocol features by default, so you should be able to use these features after simply enabling the Kconfig option.

I'm not sure what sort of BLE functionality you want to use, but the light switch sample uses Nordic UART Service (NUS) library. You can check out the implementation of this in the sample if you want to see an example of how multiprotocol can be done. Since multiprotocol is not enabled by default in the example, but is instead a config option, the BLE code can be found between #if CONFIG_BT_NUS and #endif /* CONFIG_BT_NUS */ in main.c, as well as in nus_cmd.c. I would also recommend taking a look at the Multi-Protocol Service Layer (MPSL) library, which is a library that provides common services for multiprotocol implementation. You can also read about how the Softdevice Controller and MPSL work together in the SoftDevice Controller’s documentation.
