Communicating between nrf devices via uart

Hi,

I am working on a project that involves 2 nrf52840 DKs. One device will be running a ble application while the other device will be lookin, fetching and programming any DFUs for the other device. I also want them to communicate via UART. Is this possible using the SDK 15.2.0?

I think you will find the Nordic UART Service (NUS example) a very good start for your use case.

Hi,

Thanks for the link, but that example is dealing with BLE. I am hoping to be able to use 2 nrf52840s to talk via UART without the implementation of the BLE. I am currently connecting both nrf devices via UART in addition to one being connected to the PC. However, I have been having trouble getting the to communicate.

Communicating through two UARTS should be simple and using the UART example from the SDK should be enough for you. If you are using UART connection with PC then you most likely would like to use different gpio pins than the default selection of this example.
