ATEX intrinsic safety certification of product nRF9160

Would you like to know how to access the produte nRF9160 intrinsic safety certification? I needed this certification, to find out if the product meets intrinsic safety requirements for me to use it in my project.

I await your response, thank you very much.

  • Dear Lukas,

nRF9160 is not certified formally for ATEX. However, we have tested (with external certifiation body) nRF9160 as component for ATEX compliance according to IEC/EN 60079-0 and IEC/EN 60079-11. Test certification criteria for nRF9160: II 1G Ex ia IIB Ga. As a result we have intrinsic protection values: Ci, Li, Ui, Ii and Power, including temperature operation limits. Temperature is defined for classification T4: "maximum service temperature range of -40°C ≤ Tservice ≤ 85°C at the installation location".

    Sincerely,  Mika
