steps for lte registration.

Hi,

I am currently in India city Bengaluru.

as ibasis sim does not support my region so 

i am trying to connect nrf9160 to  lte network using airtel sim card, but it is not getting connected 

is there any process to get the sim registered or it is some other issue???

Does your SIM support NBIOT ?

No it does not support NBIOT , its a 4g sim

Hi,

You will not be able to connect to the network using a 4G SIM card. It must have support for NB-IoT and/or LTE-M. If you look at the GSMA deployment map you can see that since you are located in India you must use NB-IoT, and the operator that supports this is Reliance Jio. You should contact them to find out if there is coverage in your area and to get a NB-IoT SIM card.

i have one more issue I am not able to register my LTE device on nrf cloud 

i double checked my IMEI code and PIN.

any suggestion what could be the problem?

and i am getting a error code 40412 .

Hi,

40412 is the error "No device found for this id. The device has not yet been provisioned." In order to register your LTE device on nRF Cloud the device must be connected to the network and trying to connect to nRF Cloud. Since you are unable get a network connection with your current SIM card, you will not be able to add your device to nRF Cloud.

i got a M2M sim is it similar to NB-iot sim??

will it work with the device?

ask the provider for NBIOT SIM , be it Jio , Airtel or Vodafone where you can have contacts. Some of them have test trial area networks
