nrf52dk BLE not detected

I'm using the nRF52-DK and when I open up 'nRF Connect' app to connect to the hardware, it doesn't show up. Where have I gone astray?

Hello, 

Can you please be more specific? What nRF Connect app are you referring to, nRF Connect for Desktop or nRF Connect  for Mobile? If the former, does it show up in e.g. device manager? If the latter, have you programmed the device?

Sorry for not being specific enough.
I was talking about the nRF mobile app.

I've not programmed the device.
I thought the device would have some BLE template baked into it, with a couple services/characteristics. At the minimum the deviceId.

Do you have any recommendations as to demos I could download and program onto the device?

Have you gone through the nRF52 DK User Guide? This user guide will help you set up the board and program your first samples. Our Infocenter includes more information on where to go next i.e. nRF5 Getting Started.

Also, the DevZone forum have many tutorials and questions similar to yours regarding how to start, etc. Please search the forum to make sure that you do not ask similar questions that already have been asked.
