nrf9160, FOTA for secondary mcu devices

Hi,

I'm looking for information about FOTA capabilities when upgrading firmware on secondary mcu devices.

for example ->

fota = web(cloud) -> (mqtt/http) -> (nrf9160(fota for this device?)) -uart-> (secondary mcu(fota for this device?))

I am using the FOTA  capabilities on the nrf9160, this is working great, but I want to implement FOTA for a secondary mcu aswell, the nrf9160 is wired 
to the secondary mcu with a uart interface.

Anyone with any experience that can share some information regarding my question?

Hello David,

My suggestions would be the following:

1. You can use the Download client library separately to receive a firmware update from the server to the nRF9160. Afterwards, the image can be transmitted to the secondary MCU via a UART interface.                                                                                                                      https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/1.5.0/nrf/include/net/download_client.html                                                                                                             
2. Add your secondary MCU device to the DFU target library. It is used by both the FOTA download and AWS FOTA library.
