Regulator behaviour in nRF52840

Hello team,

We have a sensor design based on nRF52840 and currently we have configured it in the normal voltage mode DC/DC REG1 enabled. It is a battery operated design. We are observing that the battery doesn't seem to last long enough as expected. 

I would like to know the drive capabilities of LDO vs DC/DC regulator in nRF52840, especially when the battery voltage is depleting.

Hi,

Not sure if I understand the question, both LDO and DC/DC will behave the same. However the current consumption is typically lower with DC/DC, since it is more efficient than LDO. You can do some current consumption estimates here with DC/DC regulator ON/OFF:
