QDID for nRF52840 dongle

I have seen a compatibility matrix for nRF52840 SoC at the link below:

https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcomp_matrix_nrf52840%2FCOMP%2Fnrf52840%2Fnrf52840_comp_matrix.html

I wanted to know if the same QDID applies to the nRF52840 dongle ?

If not, could you please tell me the QDID for nRF52840 dongle as I couldn't find it anywhere in the info center or maybe I missed it somewhere.

  • Hi,

Our QDIDs listed in the compatibility matrix are End Product listings for SoC and stack combinations. For finished products, you need to use those QDIDs as part of the combined design.

Regarding the Dongle, I need to check what the status is. I see there is an RF phy listing at Bluetooth launch studio with the nRF52840 Dongle in the Product List.

Whether or not you need a QDID, and which one, depend on the usage. For what purpose do you need the QDID? Are you including the Dongle in your product?

    Regards,
    Terje

  • Hello tesc,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, we are planning to include the dongle as is without any changes but with a shell/casing in on top of it and would need the QDID to declare the product with Bluetooth SIG as per their website.

We will be using the dongle just as a receiving device for the PC , our transmitting modules are also using nRF52840 SoC inside them.

As the Bluetooth SIG website states that we need to declare the dongle even if it is already declared by Nordic as we are rebranding it and giving it a shell. So in order to do the declaration, we need the QDID of the dongle specifically.

Would it be possible for you to provide the ID to us ?
