regarding BLE_GAP_ADV_SET_DATA_SIZE_MAX

i am using nrf52840 and trying to get long range using coded phy now i can be able to connect the devices in phy coded but i need more range is decreasing BLE_GAP_ADV_SET_DATA_SIZE_MAX  this size will help me or not? i tired to decrease this to 17 in ble_gap.h but that gives fatal error if decreasing that helps mean can any one tell mw how can i do that??

Hi,

BLE_GAP_ADV_SET_DATA_SIZE_MAX  specifies the max. advertising payload, and it's not a configurable setting. To reduce the advertising packet length you need to include less data in your advertising_init() routine. E.g. shorten the device name, not include UUIDs, etc.

Note that the ble_advdata_encode() will return the actual size of your encoded payload.

I wouldn't expect it to make a noticable difference, but it is not something I have tested.
