power consumption

Hi,

While calculating the power consumption according S110 soft device specification only ION current has been considered.

So does ION include current consumed by DCDC converters and regulators (IDCDC, I1V2RC16, I1V7 etc.)?

Thanks

The I_ON in the softdevice specification is the I_ON,16k specified in table 32 in nRF51822 PS v3.1. It only contains the basis current for staying in System On with 16k RAM enabled and does not include anything else.

In the nRF51822 PS v3.1, which is for the third revision nRF51 hardware, the DC/DC is automatically controlled by hardware (when you have it enabled) and is only enabled during radio activity. The current consumption of the radio is reduced when the DC/DC is enabled as shown in the DC/DCconversion factor graph in figure 11 in the PS v3.1. So the current consumption of the DC/DC itself is included in figure 11. DCDC recommendations are given on this thread.

The I_CPU,Flash includes current consumption of CPU, flash, 1V7 regulator, 1v2 regulator and RC16M as stated in footnote for the I_CPU,Flash parameter in table 34 in PS v3.1.
