Timestamp using RTC(Real Time Clock) for nordic thingy 52

How can we get the timestamp using RTC(Real Time Clock). Do we need to add the external RTC for nordic thingy 52 board? 

I am using the RSSI concept to calculate the distance and want to add timestamp for the time the things boards are in contact with each other within specific distance.

Hi,

You can use nrfx function nrfx_rtc_counter_get() to retrieve the current COUNTER value to get a timestap.
