Possible alternatives to ADP5360

Hello everyone,

I am currently in the process of designing a prototype using the nRF9160 and I use the Nordic-Thingy91 as a reference for some parts.
The Thingy91 uses the ADP5360 for charging and power management.

Unfortunatly the ADP5360 only comes in a tiny BGA package, which is too expensive and inconvinient for a simple prototype for evaluation.

Now I'm looking for an alternative with similar functionality.

I have found the ADP5350 offers similar functionality and comes in a bigger package.

Are there any other good alternatives with these kind of functionality for low-power?

Thank you!

  • Looking at the ADP5350 block diagram V_ISOS seems to be the output of the DCDC converter, so it should be capable of supplying the nRF91. You can see that V_ISOS feeds into the other LDO's for the optional supply outputs (VOUT1-3). You should ask Analog Devices though, as it is their product and not ours they are the ones who know the most about how these devices operate.
