nrf 9160 DK board zephyr dts file configuration

I have nrf 9160 DK board and sdk v 1.4.2 ( downloaded from nrfconnect toolchain manager ) .

For example blinky , which is the DTS file it takes and how do I modify it ?

project build directory location : D:\v1.4.2\zephyr\samples\basic\blinky\build_thingy91_nrf9160ns

 Are you talking about nrf9160dk_nrf9160ns.overlay? The blinky sample does not have an overlay file, so you would need to create one. What do you need this for?

I tried creating one by following guidelines from one of the ticket , But nothing worked .
