Getting started with nRF9160: Tips on tutorials or similar projects for reading and uploading sensor data to nrfCloud

Hi all,

I new to Nordic Semi and recently got started with nRF9160-DK. I've gone through the getting started guide and am looking for suitable tutorials, and examples to learn to build simple projects.

I am looking to learn how to connect sensor data and upload data to nrfCloud using the I2C interface. I'm used to working with Arduino but where would you guys suggest to start? Is there any tutorial or examples to follow?

I can recommend a tutorial written by my colleague Simon. It is not really up to date any more, but it shows the principles of using nRF products with the NCS and touches communication with sensor devices as well.

Additionally, you can find a various amount of sensor example in the Zephyr-part of the NCS, located in ../ncs/zephyr/samples/sensor.

When it comes to sending sensors data to the nRF Cloud, we have an application that does exactly that. It is called the Asset Tracker.

There is a new version of it as well, called the Asset Tracker v2. It is easier to modify compared to its first version, but unfortunately it doesn’t support nRF Cloud yet.
