Radio Test Example: Unable to select 2402MHz

Hello - our certification lab is using the radio test example in order to perform their testing. They claim that the lowest channel they are able to set within the example is 2405MHz. They are using a data rate set to "ieee802154_250kbit". They are only able to select 2402MHz using ble_1mbps and ble_2mbps.

I have seen other postings mention this and suggest to use the Direct Test Mode. When using the DTM, there is no option to select ieee802154_250kbit, as I believe this mode is intended to test BLE only.

Please help.

  • Hi,

The lowest frequence 802.15.4 uses is 2405MHz, so for the ieee802154_250kbit dataset the lowest supported frequency in the radio test example is 2405MHz. Is there a reason why they want to set up the carrier frequency to 2402MHz for 802.15.4 testing? You will be risking going out of the band edge (2400MHz) as the channel bandwidth for 802.15.4 is larger than for BLE.

Picture found on the internet for illustration:

They are only able to select 2402MHz using ble_1mbps and ble_2mbps.

Lowest frequency for BLE both in 1Mbps and 2Mbps mode is 2402MHz.

    Best regards,

    Marjeris
