NRF Connect Toolchain "Subcommand Failed"

I've been using the nrf connect toolchain for a bit, and after some initial trouble it was working ok, but now its randomly giving this error whenever I try to build anything:

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, installing V1.5.1 (which this is), uninstalling everything and reinstalling, nothing works, even with clean builds.

Hi,

What version of GNU Arm Embedded Toolchain are you using?
What version of SES are you using? and did you reinstall SES?

Was NCS v1.5.1-rc1 the one that worked previously?

Do you use the Open IDE button in the Toolchain manager ?

apologies for the late reply, it turns out this was due to another program deleting the path environment variable. After it was restored, this problem was fixed
