Replacing nRF Connect for Desktop with a custom application

Hi,

To automate some testing procedures, I was wondering if it is possible to use the firmware, which runs on an nRF5x to connect to nRF Connect for Desktop, but with a different, custom desktop app.

Basically, nRF Connect for Desktop includes everything I need for testing. And I was wondering if I can send commands from a custom application (e.g. a test framework) to an nRF dongle (running the same binary as used with nRF Connect) and configure all the options that are available in nRF Connect for Desktop.

Is there a document outlining the serial protocol used by that firmware?

Hi,

The firmware that is used with nRF Connect for Desktop is based on our pc-ble-driver. So you can use the pc-ble-driver found on our Github, optionally you can use the -py or -js version. As for documentation, look at the source code and the Softdevice documentation.
