pc_ble_py driver unable to connect to NRF52840

I am trying to use the connectivity firmware with an NRF52840 dongle to communicate with an nRF52840-dk through the nordic UART service, but I am unable to use the pc_ble_py or c driver to communicate with it. I have tried using the python heart rate collector and advertising example programs but both running into some communication issue when I try to open the connection to the dongle. I have tried using manually built and precompiled firmware using versions 4.1.1 and 4.1.4 and both have this issue.

Additionally I am seeing the same issue when I try to use the c driver heart rate examples. There must be something super small I am missing so any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Which hex file did you use for the dongle? How did you program the dongle?

Note that the nRF52840 Dongle can only use connectivity firmware with Nordic USB CDC serial port support.

The pc-ble-driver-py does not support SD v6, you will need to use the SD v5 for it to work.

The other image I tried was connectivity_4.1.1_1m_with_s132_5.1.0 and the issue persists with both C and python code.

For it to work on the dongle, you need to use the "usb" version as well, not the "1m".

Sorry I copied the wrong file name, I am using the USB version.

Can you try the dongle with our nRF Connect for Desktop? Go to the BLE app inside nRF Connect -> Connect your dongle -> A pop up will show up asking you to program the dongle. Do you get it to work with the default firmware flashed by the app?
