Flash Bootloader, SoftDevice and Application

Hi

I am trying to flash the device with the bootloader, the soft device and the application, because I do not want do the OTA update at production.

SET BOOTLOADER=bootloader.hex
SET APP=app.hex

mergehex -m merged_SD_bootloader.hex %APP% -o merged_SD_bootloader_app.hex

but the application does not work. Is there a way to do this?

Do I need to encrypt the application hex?

You need to generate a "bootloader settings page" with nrfutil, and either merge this with you final hex file or flash this in addition.

Otherwise the bootloader assumes that there is no valid app in flash memory.

Hi,

In addition to the missing bootloader settings file mentioned by Turbo J (see also Generating and displaying bootloader settings, and Bootloader settings page), there is also a bug in mergehex from nRF Command Line Tools v10.12.x. If you experience any issues also with the settings file in place, try using nRF Command Line Tools version 10.11 instead.
