Can Android notify App when the specific device is advertising?

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible that Android OS can know a specific device (has ever connected before) is advertising and OS notify a specific App to connect with it. Instead that App scans the device all the time and then connects with it when the device is advertising. My purpose of this is to save the power consumption of Android devices.

If this is possible, please give me some advice about how to implement.

Hi. It seems like that if you use Android V5.x you can use an API with "low power mode scanning", but it still uses some of battery: Fast Background Detection With Android 5.0.

If you use Android V4.3 etc you will have to do some periodic scanning to save power: Creating background services for Bluetooth low energy on Android. You should also look into the Android Beacon Library.
