Are you thinking about dual-bank DFU update application?

I recomming taking a look at this blogpost on Getting started with Nordic's Secure DFU bootloader, a step by step guide.

"If NRF_DFU_SINGLE_BANK_APP_UPDATES is set, then single-bank update is preferred. Otherwise, all firmware updates are performed as dual-bank updates."
