create_nordic_project.py failed (1) - can't seem to open ANY nrf Connect SDK project on SES

Hello, I have installed (multiple times) the nRF connect SDK via the manual installation guide but I still seem to be unable to open any project. 

I have tried on MacOS and on Windows 10 and I keep getting the same error create_nordic_project.py failed (1).

I am trying to open the central uart project for the nRF52840 dk board. Here is the description of the error.

Hi! From my experience, I'd say it's either that:

• the path to the project has unsupported characters in it (space character is unsupported)
• you need to check "Clean build directory" option

Hey! Thanks for answering. I tried checking the clean build directory option and it is still not working. Also I checked and there are no unsupported characters in the path either.

Did you use the Nordic's Toolchain manager to install the nRF Connect SDK? Or did you do a manual instalation?

I suggest you try performing clean Toolchain manager installation of the SDK.

I tried on Mac though it is not yet fully supported and failed. Also on windows the installation ended but still most of the directories of the new ncs folder were missing, that is why I went for the manual installation. I guess I'll try again with the toolchain manager.
