Thread with Coded PHY

Hello,

I'm working on a project with the nRF52840 PCA10056 board. I want to use Thread protocol. But I'm not sure if Thread supports Coded PHY, a feature of Bluetooth 5.0. Can Thread be used like BLE Long Range or Thread distance can be increased?

Thank you for your help,

Best Regards.

  • Agree with Andrew, Thread is based on the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC and PHY layers at the bottom, and the IEEE 802.15.4 standard supports a 250 kbit/s data link at a range of 10m. If your applications need langer distance, you may need to add relay device or use other solutions like BLE long range.
