maker-oriented nRF51-based IoT sensor platforms?

I'm playing with open-source IoT over Bluetooth and recently was told about TI's new SensorTag product line which uses a CC2650 multi-sensor bluetooth base platform with pluggable display/actuator modules in a deployable form factor.

Is anybody doing something like this with Nordic nRF51 (or maybe nRF52) hardware? The only thing I've found is the LinkSprite BLE_SENTG which is a great start but it's just the populated runnable board and isn't deployable by a software-oriented solo maker without finding some sort of protective case.

Hi,

There are a couple of vendors that do this, for example mbug.

Since the nRF51 development kit is arduino compatible there are a plethora of shields available that give you a wide range of sensor functionality, for example the mbed application shield.

mbug looks wonderful, but it doesn't exist yet and their funding goals weren't reached. I'll try to see if they're still planning to produce the Nordic version.
