I am working an a product based on the NRF52832 and I need to trigger an interrupt when a capacitive button is pressed / proximity detected (BLE is peripheral and it is advertising).
I need the extra current used by the capacitive touch controller to be in the uA range.
What is the added current consumption to for an application like this? Or is it better to consider an external touch controller (although it is definitely not cost effective).

If you use the capacitive sensing library then you can expect a significant increase in current consumption as it uses the Timer and COMP peripherals, where the former uses the HFCLK. You can try flashing your devkit with capacitive sensor example and measure the current it uses.
