rf test points

Hi, I am soon going to run initial RF Performance Tests. We have designed the board IAW Nordic recommendations, so I do not have any special test points and/or RF connectors for testing/debugging. Is the recommendation just to touch the relevant points with the RF probe?

Thanks, Uri

  • @Uri: I'm not best in answer question about RF, but usually when doing tuning and testing, we will use the test point at:

1 - The output of the matching network (junction between L3 and C6 in the reference design) if you plan to tune the matching network or when you want to test the output performance. You can find this on the design of the nRF51 DK where we have the SMF connector.

2 - Cut the connection between the tuning network for the antenna and the matching network (the point at #1) to tune the antenna.
