"How do I connect an ESP-32 S2 to a PPKit V2 to measure voltage usage of my python script"

Hi all, I've got the ppkv2 finally (after 4 months waiting). I'm a little confused, you (and the documentation said), that in Source Meter Moder the pkkv2 powers the dut (here my esp32 s2), but on the link you mentioned above , the DUT is connected to the ppkv2 as well as it is connected (powered) with the Notebook via USB (drawing shows a 'power-ring'? In my case if I connect the esp32s2 to the ppkv2 as described, nothing works, if I connect the esp32s2 addtionally to my 3,7 volt lipo it seems to work?

Furthermore, are there further examples for using pkkv2 with non nordic semiconductor test boards available?

Many thx in advance for your support.

regardly

Peter

The PPK2 is a standard SMU (Source Measure Unit), meaning that it powers the board and measures current at the same time. So you need to connect the PPK2 to the board supply header, which is probably where the battery is connected. So remove the battery and connect the PPK2 to where the battery was connected.

I think you are referring to this drawing. On the nRF91 DK, the USB is powering the debugger chip, and the PPK2 is powering the nRF chip directly.

  • Hi Stian

I soldered a small adapter to connect the PPKv2 via VOUT and Ground to use the Feathers2 - lipo-connector (please see the pic. But it doesn't seem to work?
