Is it possible to self provision a smartphone? Do smartphones support now PB-ADV?-

I would like to self-provision my smartphone. Do you know how can I do this?

Then, I read that a smartphone must connect to a proxy via GATT bearer (hence a connection) node in order to enter the mesh network. But isn't it possible to use PB-ADV?

Yes, that is correct. I'm not aware of any phones that supports PB-ADV at the moment unfortunatetly.

Okay. Bad news. it means that we must connect to the proxy by a manual operation before sending a mesh message? I would like to send easily a generic on off message by phone in the mesh network to order light switching of a tag. I don't want to scan for proxy, select proxy, connect to it and then send message. Or maybe we could do all these steps in one to facilitate user experience?

Yes, I hardcode the appkey and netkey in the API smartphone. This is my plan.

That could work for a 1-off personal project - but no good for widespread or commercial use

Ok I will consider it indeed. And is it feasible to send a generic on off message by phone (supposing we hardcoded appkey and netkey in API) without connecting to a proxy?
