BLE Mouse Example in Windows 10

I built the  mouse  BLE example .

In Windows 10   "Add a device" detects the Nordic_HIDS_mouse device and then issues the

challenge Press Connect if the PIN on Nordic_HIDS_Mouse matches this one ...

and displays some arbitrary looking 6 digit number.

Two buttons Connect and Cancel

Pressing Connect results in failure

Pressing Cancel comes up with another challenge ...

There is no mention of this scenario in the README for this example.

Some advice on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated.

During development you may by bonding repeatedly, which may cause problems, so you can try to allow re-pairing by adding handling of PM_EVT_CONN_SEC_CONFIG_REQ as shown here:

If still no luck, then I need an on-air sniffer log of the issue:
