nRF5340-PDK onboard debugger "LOG: Failed to power up DAP"

I have a nRF52840 dongle, I was using nRF52840-DK as a pass through debugger for it and it's been working well. I use the J-LINK RTT Viewer, and the RTT connects correctly.

Now I tried to use nRF5340-PDK to replace the nRF52840-DK as the debugger, but it cannot connect. I ran into "Failed to power up DAP" error.

Any suggestion?

The PDK is no longer supported, ref: https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/ug_nrf5340.html# 

"The nRF5340 PDK has been deprecated with the introduction of the production-level nRF5340 DK."

That said, I don't see any obvious reason why this should fail. I assume you have followed:

Maybe double check you have latest nRF Command line tools.

Thanks Kenneth, noted that the PDK is no longer supported, thanks for the reminder.

And regarding the original issue, after I posted the question, I tried some different steps to debug. I connected the PDK to a windows 10 PC and use the RTT viewer there to connect the external board for debug and it started to work properly, now I move it back to Mac and using exactly the same setup as before and no longer encounter the issue.

I don't know what the cause was for the error, but we can consider this resolved now.
