NTP date time nrf9160

Hi,

I am trying to get the current time, using nrf9160 dk with v1.5.1. I  tried using the following functions 

  

date_time_now();
date_time_uptime_to_unix_time_ms();

proj.confg. tried enabling/disabling based on devzone case threads.

I already had a look into most if not all the cases on devzone about the subject trying to fix the issue. I tried the sample mqtt_time https://github.com/too1/mqtt_w_date_time/blob/master/src/main.c same issue

Hi,

Are you connected to the network when you call the date_time functions?

What SIM card are you using? Could you be out of data?

If you are connected, and have your SIM card should be working, could you take a modem trace so I can see what is happening in the modem?

Hi,

Yes I am connected to the network and able to send and receive message using nb-iot with CoAP. I am using telenor nb-iot sim. date_time_now() comes after lte_lc_init() if I am not mistaken? . Do I need to use date_time_update_async() ? .
