pstorage_update and damaged flash cell

Hi, I've got another question connected with pstorage module. Does anyone know what happens if we will call pstorage_update() function when we are trying to update some data in the working flash cell, but somewhere in the flash page is a damaged cell? Does the pstorage module while copying not affected data, when it gets to the damaged cell returns some kind of an error? Or It stores the data in that cell, but it's content will be unreliable?

Hi,

Most likely you are going to get a PSTORAGE_ERROR_OP_CODE, NRF_ERROR_NO_MEM or NRF_ERROR_NOT_FOUND error. If you see how flash is being written in ble_flash.c located in "..[SDK]\components\drivers_nrf\ble_flash" you can see that there are being done a lot of checks to verify that everything goes smoothly. Hopefully this answers your question.

Thanks for your answer. I've looked at the pstorage.c file but I cannot find any connection in it to ble_flash.c functions, only sd_flash_write() called from swap_state_process(). Sorry for my question, but I need to be sure that the data stored in flash isn't corrupted.
