Support with GCF certification - field tests

Hello DevZone support team!

We are right now doing GCF certification of a device based on nRF9160 and need some urgent support from You!!

Attached is an excel sheet with all tests that are part of the field test certification.

1. Can You please confirm what cases in the excel sheet that are supported by nRF9160 version NRF9160-SICA-B1A-R7 with FW 1.2.3

2. Are there AT-commands available for all supported cases?

3. Do You have any guidelines or document describing how to support the testhouse with SW or other Tools when doing GCF certification of a device based on the GCF certified nRF9160.

We are doing the certification at 7Layers in Germany and they have asked us for:

As mentioned, for FT testing we need the following conditions.

  1. The ability to see real-time trace log messages
  2. Control the UE via AT commands. (make call, connect to network, PSM operations and so on)
  3. Ability to send data and verify data was sent. (Tethering to laptop as modem, remote server or other)Tethering is the easiest to test for throughput testing.
  4. Receive data. (proposed example of an audio alert when the data is received should work)

  • Attached is the list of supported and tested cases in our nRF9160 GCF certification. Annex 5.4 is from older version (3.80.1 vs 3.82) but test cases are the same.

  • Thanks Didrik!

Can you please also provide the GCF IoT testlist for the 1.3.0 FW to us. We are right now considering to shift over to that FW instead if that solves the SIM rst problem we have.

  • We haven't gotten an updated sheet back from our test house yet.

However, the only change should be that non-IP data delivery is now supported.
