Matter DoorLock Example: Share data during commissioning by NFC tag emulation

Hi there,

I worked myself through  the Matter DoporLock example including commissioning into a Thread Network using OTBR.  I find manually obtaining the credentials from the UART console and generating a QR code too far off from a real world product use case and hence would like to commission the devices with the NFC Tag emulation. 

The latest NRF connect SDK Door Lock example does support this - at least I can read out the NFC Tag with a NFC Utility App on my Android phone. However, the Android CHIPTool doesn't seem to support the credential transport through NFC yet - or I don't know how to use it.

Could you let me know if I miss something here?

Hello Charlie, thanks for your swift reply! 

I actually used the latest Android version and after your reply I tested again and found that the NFC works by just opening the application without touching any buttons. So, the original problem is solved! However the NFC Data is not correctly processed by the application. Please see attached screenshots:

As you can see the data from the Setup-QR Code (provided by UART)   is the same as read out by the NFC Utility app. But can't be processed by Chip Android Tool.

Hi Jens,

Sorry for the late reply. Nordic does not have Android developer that can help to debug this problem. I suggest you raise an issue on Matter(projectchip) Github repo to get quick help.
