ToolChain manager does not get past "first steps to build" so cannot launch Segger embedded studio

Hello -

I have been trying to go back to editing and using the tools to program my nrF52832 device .  I have not touched this for several months and was working with SDK v1.3.0-rc1.

First problem was that I could not open the segger embedded studio when i pressed open IDE (sorry dont recall what it is called).  liscence failed.

with the help of your support guy  we went through several steps in trying to update to the latest version of pretty much everything.  we eventually updated and reinstalled everything from scratch after trying to download each of the packages step by step.

We renamed my existing directory so I would not lose my changes.

we ran cclean to try to resolve.

after all of this I still have a screen that looks like

.  I cannot get past the first "steps to build."  It will not convert to "open ide"

I am on a windows 10 64 bit machine running the version 20H2

 Is this "support guy" someone working for Nordic? Do you have a name or a link to a devzone ticket where I can get more information?

Hello Hakon -

Yes it is a Nordic support guy.  this is the ticket , at least I thought that is what I was doing.  I submitted public instead of private so others could see.  I am hoping nordic responds.

hello - I did not realize you are an apps guy for Nordic.  I was working with Jeff Scott.  id is 270631

sorry for the delay.  I could not get into this site for some reason.

I resolved the problem with help from Jeff Scott - he sent me a related case that implied a problem with the virus checker not allowing the install to proceed correctly.  it is here this support case. 

I uninstalled the nrf connect program 

disabled virus checker

installed nrfconnect

installed the sdk (latest)

started segger studio

reenabled virus checker

shut it all down and retried to be sure it would work.

It is now functioning fine. I get the open ide button now.
