Low Voltage on internal regulator

Hi,

I get "Could not fetch memory size of target devkit: Error: Error occured when get library info. Errorcode: CouldNotOpenDevice (0x4) Lowlevel error: LOW_VOLTAGE (fffffff4)" in the NRF Connect programmer. I cannot do anything Disappointed

I tried doing nrfjprog --recover, I get this:

ERROR: Low voltage detected at the target. Please make sure the device is
ERROR: properly supplied.

I measured the voltage on the VDD OUT pin and it's low, like 0.45V.

Seems something is broken. But can I fix it? Why would it break?

PS: I was using my NRF52 dongle together with my J-link mini edu debugger and it worked fine until now. SB2 is soldered, SB1 is open, so it should use the internal power supply.

Please help.

  • Hi, sorry for the late response.

What version og the nrf52 dongle version do you have?
What do you measure at VBUS?

Are you sure that the USB plug you are using is working correctly? Are any of the components damaged on the PCB dongle?

Are you using a dongle or USB hub?

If you dont have any progress then i suggest testing a different supply method just to rule out the internal supply option.

So to try external supply mode, and test if supplying the dongle trough any VDD_nrf(VDD OUT) results in a successful debug/program.

Here are some of the connection points, if you have a 10 pin connector mounted
