xtal voltages

Hello Nordic, we are trying to develop a system using nRF52833 and want to reuse the xtal 32.768k and xtal 32M clocks for other purposes. For that, we need to know at the XL1 / XL2 / XC1 / XC2 pins, with only the XTAL and with negligible extra loading on board, the Vmax and the Vmin of the clock swing. Another information we need is the VDD level of the circuit connecting to XL1 / XL2 and the VDD to XC1 / XC2.

To measure directly with our not-very-advanced equipment may add too much loading, and lead to incorrect information. Therefore, we would like to consult with you.

Thank you!

Joy

  • First,

The 32MHz crystal is exclusively for the radio, so any tampering with this is not recommended and probably a bad ide if you want to use the radio.

As for the 32kHz crystal you are free to use as you want, but it may not adhere to the specification after tampering but it will not effect the radio in any way.

I will update you with the proper information that we can provide, however could you share what goal you have or what you are trying to achieve. This might make it easier for us to provide better feedback.

    Regards,
    Jonathan
