mqttsn_sleepy examples not finding gateway

Hi, 

I'm running example mqttsn_sleepy_subscriber from nRF5_SDK_for_Thread_and_Zigbee_v4.1.0_32ce5f8 on a nRF52840-DK with Paho MQTT-SN gateway on a Raspberry Pi 3 running stretch and a nRF52840-Dongle running NCP plugged in.

I'm monitoring logs with J-Link RTT Viewer and I can see that DK joins the Thread network (LED1 stays ON) but can't find the gateway even if running the example mqttsn_client_subscriber with the same setup it succeeds.

I can't understand why, any help is appreciated!

Hi,

Are you using the exact same configurations for the border router and MQTT-SN gateway as we use in out border router image? Have you tested the provided border router image to see if the examples works correctly with this? Please make sure to follow the instructions in Testing closely.

Can you post the RTT log outputs and a sniffer trace showing on-air communication between the devices?

What is the output from "sudo wpanctl status" commands on border router?

Hi Jørgen,

we started developing our main application from the suggested border router image but we applied some changes to it.
I've tried to restore the clean image and then the example ran correctly.
So I've found the change that was giving problems and it was the GatewayUDP6Broadcast in gateway config file.
We had problems with gateway search after changing Thread parameters and followed this devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../unable-to-get-nrf52840-thread-mqtt-sn-example-working---mqttsn_search_gateway_no_gateway_found to solve.
But now this was the problem and using the original GatewayUDP6Broadcast everything is fine, probably we had other errors before that now are fixed.
